Become a mentor for the Union Leaders of the Future Scholarship Program

Embracing its mission to support a stronger labor movement, Union Privilege launched a successful new scholarship program in 2007. The Union Leaders of the Future Scholarship offers women and people of color up to $3,000 for leadership training so they can become tomorrow's high-level union leaders. The scholarship winners are also matched with mentors who are already established leaders in the labor movement. We invite you to participate in this program by serving as a mentor.

Union leaders who agree to be mentors must commit to:

1. Participate in a one-day mentoring training program in Washington, DC. (Union Privilege will reimburse for travel and hotel expenses.)
2. Participate in monthly calls with your mentee to build a relationship with him/her.
3. Visit your mentee at least one time in person to discuss his/her union leadership growth.
4. Email your mentee periodically to address questions or concerns the mentee raises.

REMINDER: Please promote the scholarship by linking to it from your union's Web site, distributing a program flyer, or placing a banner on your Web site.
